The final group matches begin today. Some of the so-called giants of internaional football have struggled so far. What have you made of the World Cup so far?
I think most of the games have been boring, I've enjoyed the Argentina games and liked Mexico against France but the tournament seems 'flat' to me. Maybe it's because we failed to qualify but even folks at work are saying it has been disappointing
Its been rubbish...too much play acting and diving from players, not enough quality, too much hype on England. Teams look like they are so scared of losing that all the skillful play has gone out the game. The World Cup gets billed as the greatest sports entertainment but it definately hasn't lived up to it this time round. Hopefully once the group stages are over it will be more of a spectacle to watch.
I've just been listening on the BBC News to a report saying that schools and businesses are closing or allowing people to watch the game live. It like it's the end of the world if they don't qualify, I can't believe how everyone reacts down south, at the end of the day it is only a football tournament and they are talking about the country grinding to a halt for England's most important game in decades - pathetic really if you ask me.
I must have been watching a different game from the BBC commentary team because I did see a great performance...but they are through and I guess thats what matters
Looking forward to today's games, I don't think Portugal v Brazil will be a classic but it should be interesting, Chile v Spain though should be good as the Spanish need to win or they will be going home.
