The latest Star Wars Battlefront 2 patch, The Night on Endor update, will provide folks with the opportunity to play as Ewoks, and buy Crystals through the store.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 players will take on the role of both Ewoks and Stormtroopers in the new Ewok Hunt mode, part of the Night on Endor update.

In the mode, Stormtroopers will do their best to survive a night on the Forest Moon of Endor. Ewoks don’t play around, ya know.

Along with the update, more appearances have been added to Star Wars Battlefront 2, and more options will be added as time goes on. These appearances can be earned through in-game Credits, or by purchasing Crystals.

With the update, Crystals are available for purchase through the store, should players wish to further customize their characters with cosmetics.

These microtransactions were pulled from the store months ago, and when the progression update to Star Wars Battlefront 2 was released back in March, DICE said the Crystals would return in April.

The update also allows players to use their remaining Crafting Parts and convert them into Skill Points. A bonus Credit reward has also been added for the winning team in each match.

Limited Time mode Night on Endor and the patch will release on April 18 alongside a trove of bug fixes and balancing tweaks.

Full patch notes for the Star Wars Battlefront 2 update are below.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 – Night on Endor patch notes
Heroes and Villans
Iden Versio

Iden’s STUN DROID ability was shocking twice for 0.5 seconds with a 1.3 seconds delay in between. The intent was to give a chance to the target to roll away from the second stun and provide some skill reward. This ended up being confusing and rarely worked out as intended. Given Iden’s recent improvements, this ability became too powerful and we needed to lower its effectiveness.
  • Removed double stun
  • Increased stun duration from 0.5 to 0.9 seconds
  • The RESILIENT DASH Star Card is now giving the proper, listed damage reduction. Previously the damage reduction was higher than stated.
  • The INSIGHT ability’s description now properly states that Rey’s Stamina does not deplete while the ability is active
  • Fixed an issue where a red glint could appear on his Relby V-10 while scoped. In the Star Wars universe this weapon does not have a red glint at all!
  • The explosion timer of the grenades from PREDATOR INSTINCTS is now back to 1.7 seconds as intended
Darth Maul
  • The SABER THROW ability should now be more reliable than ever and will connect properly with its target
  • The FOOL ME ONCE Star Card now applies the proper bonuses
Darth Vader
  • The DARK LORD Star Card now applies the proper bonuses
  • The BONUS HEALTH Star Card now applies the proper bonuses
  • Fixed an issue where Darth Vader would stay in the CHOKE animation when that ability was used in the air

Luke Skywalker
  • Updated the description of the RUSH ability so that it now properly states that it is an attack
  • Updated the description of the DASH ATTACK ability so that it now properly states that it is an attack

Boba Fett
  • Fixed an issue in Arcade where Boba Fett’s horizontal speed was too fast while using the JET PACK

Classes, Special Units and Vehicles
  • Improved melee combat responsiveness for all melee attacks, including lightsabers. Timing for effects, audio, camera shake, and the application of damage have been closer aligned to the expected moment of the impact to make the melee combat experience feel tighter.

  • Fixed an issue where XP for Speeders was given to the last Class played instead of the Speeder Class

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is getting a Clone Wars DLC that will feature new Heroes and Villains, including General Grievous, Obi-Wan, and Anakin.

Details of the upcoming DLC were unveiled at EA's E3 2018 press conference today, and players diving into the Clone Wars will have four new Heroes and Villains added to the roster in the form of General Grievous, Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Count Dooku.

The planet Geonosis will also be included in the DLC, which will feature a number of levels, including the largest one the team has ever built for Battlefront.

As well as the Battlefront 2 news, we were treated to another Star Wars morsel with a small update from Respawn Entertainment on its Star Wars game.

The title is called Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, and will be set between Episode 3 and Episode 4, during the “dark times” when the Jedi were hunted. The game will release next year.

There's no date yet for Battlefront 2's Clone Wars DLC, but it'll launch at some point this year.

After teasing new updates to Star Wars Battlefront 2 at the company's E3 2018 press conference, EA unveiled a more definitive timeline of when players can begin to see more content drops for the game. A tweet reveals that Battlefront 2 is getting some minor tweaks this July, before getting more major updates later this fall and winter.

In July, Battlefront 2 will be getting a new mode called Hero Starfighters. The mode pits two teams of four against one another in battles where players pilot hero ships, such as the Millennium Falcon or Slave I, in aerial dogfights. Battlefront 2 will also be receiving several game improvements as well. Jedi and Sith hero characters will be able to turn their lightsabers on and off on player command and using their laser sword to block blaster bolts will now consume stamina while doing so.

In August, Battlefront 2's large Clone Wars expansion begins with new clone trooper appearances. A few new emotes and victory poses will be added too. These Clone Wars updates will continue in the fall, with additional clone trooper appearances, a squad system, a new unannounced large-scale multiplayer mode, and the addition of Obi-Wan Kenobi and General Grievous as playable heroes. Additional Clone Wars updates will arrive in the winter, bringing in both Anakin Skywalker and Count Dooku as heroes as well as adding a Geonosis multiplayer map.

DICE has provided an updated roadmap for Star Wars Battlefront 2, outlining planned content drops for the remainder of the year.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 players have the new Squad System to look forward to September, and according to the development roadmap, General Grievous is expected in October.

The new Squad System allows player to spawn on squad members and will available first in Galactic Assault, Blast, and Strike modes. DICE said the new system is an “improved and streamlined” way for players to stick together for team play.

Also coming in September is the 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Corps and 104th Wolfpack Battalion. Supplementary clone trooper appearances will also be available for the Galactic Republic.

General Grievous will arrive in October as promised during EA Play in June, and the droid will be followed by Obi-Wan Kenobi and in November. Alongside “Ben” a new Galactic Assault map, Geonosis, will be released.

This location is a major theatre of conflict during the Clone Wars, and players will be able to traverse it using three new vehicles: the STAP, the BARC speeder, and the AT-TE.

Also in November, the 212th Attack Battalion clone soldiers will be available as trooper appearances for the Galactic Republic.

Count Dooku, a new non-linear large-scale mode, and Anakin Skywalker will be added this winter. The Coruscant Guard appearances are also in the plan.

More content and features are still to be confirmed over the coming months.

Back in August (see above), EA had outlined their roadmap for future content that would be released for Star Wars: Battlefront II, following which the September update was released quite recently, bringing Clone Wars content and Squad Improvements. Now EA and DICE have revealed an updated version of the roadmap, which provides more details regarding content that will be released for the next few months, up until February 2019.

In October, among other things, General Grievous will be added to the game, and there will also be alternative look available for him, which can be bought with Credits or Crystals. Apart from this, this months will also bring the N1 Starfighter, a fighter class ship, to the Hero Starfighters mode. There will also be game improvements such as a hero health rework and regeneration balancing. In the month of November, Obi-Wan Kenobi will be added to the game, and some new appearances will be added as well. The planet Geonosis will also be added as a new location.

There will be no new updates in December, as the developers prepare to release Clone Wars content in 2019. In January, Count Dooku will be added, along with various appearances for different characters. Finally, in February, Anakin Skywalker will make his entry into the game, along with the new game mode that features capturing points and capital ship takedowns.

All in all, there’s a fair bit of content arriving in the next few months for players to be excited about. You can check out the roadmap in the image below.

EA has released a new update for Star Wars: Battlefront 2, which begins the process of adding Clone Wars-themed content to the shooter. This update brings General Grievous, the four-armed lightsaber-wielding robot general with a perennial cough.

Grievous’ standard attacks see him using two lightsabers, though of course, on special occasions he brings out all four of them. The Thrust Surge move sees him thrusting forward toward an opponent with all four lightsabers. Unrelenting Advance sees Grievous spinning all his lightsabers around in a circular wall of death in front of him, similar to what he did in Revenge of the Sith. Claw Rush sees him going down on all six of his limbs to move at extremely fast speeds, dealing damage and also being able to escape tight situations.

Grievous has two different appearances in the game, while a third one is also on the way in the update for next month, which will also add Obi-Wan Kenobi and the location of Geonosis. Meanwhile, a user on Reddit has also found files in the update that hint at even more unannounced new characters, such as Padme from the prequel trilogy, and Ahsoka Tano from Clone Wars and Rebels.
