A thread to discuss English Championship football, Scottish football, European and World club football. Basically anything other than the English Premiership, Champions League and Europa League all which have their own threads.

A truly dominating performance from Leeds tonight. Thumping Frank Lampard's Derby County side on their own ground 4-1. Very impressive.

Marcelo Bielsa is a quality coach. Would be great to see Leeds back amongst the big boys again.

Rubbish from Celtic today. Great goal from Lafferty for Hearts but Celtic were poor. I know Rodgers rested players for the Athens game in midweek but there was enough quality in the side to win this game.

Poor week for Celtic - this defeat, Rodgers apparently being disgruntled about the board and transfers, the row with Boyata and the disappointing 1st leg score in the CL qualifier.

I always liked him at Bilbao. They played good football during his time as manager. It will be interesting to see how he gets on at Leeds who have gone through managers like water in the past few years!

Going to need a miracle on Tuesday with the defence in the nick it is currently in.

This defeat was a sore one although Hearts could have had at least one off if the referee done his job correctly. The defeat is down to Rodgers though, Hearts at Tynecastle is probably Celtic's hardest domestic game and he changes things big style.

Agreed. It was a weird line-up and tactics especially for a match at Tynecastle.

Kouassi and Hayes didn't do enough in midfield to challenge for a starting place but they weren't the only ones to struggle.

Barcelona win the Spanish Super Cup with a 2-1 victory over Sevilla.

Sevilla went ahead with a nice finish from Sarabia after some good work from Muriel. Pique equalised with a tap-in after the goalie from Sevilla pulled off a good save from a Messi free kick.

And Dembele scored a worldie to win the game.

Sevilla still had chances but Yedder squandered the best of them and the opportunity to take the game into extra-time. A very poor penalty in the final minute.

Suarez was horrendous tonight. Barcelona could be doing with another quality forward or Messi may be carrying the team again this season.

Atletico Madrid beat city rivals Real 4-2 (after extra time) to win the European Super Cup last night.

It's clear to see that without Ronaldo Real are going to struggle big time in La Liga and the Champions League, not that it was in any doubt.

There's no way they'll defend the Champions League again without him and they're further away now from La Liga success thanks to Atletico keeping Griezmann and adding Lemar to an already very good squad.

You can't lose a player of his calibre and then bring in nobody to replace even half his goals, I felt Benzema was done at Madrid maybe 2 seasons ago, the fact they're going to plough on with him as their main CF for another year tells its own story.

Wow. West Brom have put SEVEN past QPR. Steve McLaren is a hopeless manager.
